EDMONTON, AB -The Edmonton Oilers have signed forward Patrick Russell to a one-year contract extension.
Russell, 26, appeared in 51 games last season with the American Hockey League's (AHL) Bakersfield Condors, registering 40 points (18G, 22A), 32 penalty minutes and a +30 plus/minus rating, ranking second on the team. He also posted seven points (2G, 5A), four penalty minutes and a +3 plus/minus rating in 10 playoff games.
The 6'1", 205-pound forward has appeared in 187 career AHL games over three seasons with the Condors, recording 84 points (40G, 44A) 102 penalty minutes and a +21 plus/minus rating.
Russell played in six games with the Oilers in 2018-19, including making his NHL debut with the Oilers on November 17 against Calgary.
