EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Oilers have signed forward Carter Savoie to a three-year, entry-level contract (ELC) beginning with the 2021-22 season.
Savoie, selected 100th overall by the Oilers in the 2020 NHL Draft, joined the American Hockey League's Bakersfield Condors on April 18 on an amateur tryout contract (ATO), after a standout season with the University of Denver. He has appeared in two games with the Condors, recording two penalty minutes.
The 20-year-old helped lead the Pioneers to the 2022 NCAA national championship. In his sophomore season, he tied for the team lead and was fourth in the NCAA with 23 goals in 39 games.
In the Frozen Four tournament, Savoie scored in three of Denver's four games, including the game-winner in the regional final and the OT winner to defeat Michigan in the national semifinal.
A native of St. Albert, Savoie had 36 goals and 29 assists in 63 career NCAA games.
