Net proceeds from shirt sales with be donated via the EOCF to the Friends of Elk Island Society, which proudly supports conservation, research, education and recreation in Elk Island National Park, including wood bison conservation. Elk Island National Park east of Edmonton is currently home to North America's oldest herd of purebred wood bison.

Puljujarvi is also donating all royalties to support the effort. The Finnish forward has enjoyed a productive season to date with 10 goals and 13 assists in 28 games.
An early October visit to Elk Island National Park and a picture posted to his Instagram story with his dog Jaffa and a wood bison in the background led to the winger being nicknamed "Bison King" by Oilers fans. Puljujarvi also wore a Bison King costume to the team's Halloween party.
The EOCF will host an online 50/50 raffle in January 2022 to support the initiative.
