#SocOILmedia: January 14, 2017

Time to check in on the Oil Country social media sphere with our weekly blog! We welcomed some special guests to Rogers Place this weekend with the Toronto Blue Jays on their annual Winter Tour. Our Ford Street Team hit the road to give away some prizes. And, as always, we showcase our favourite GIFs and fan content from the past week.

#WT2017
The boys of summer are embracing the winter as a few Toronto Blue Jays are touring across Western Canada for #WT2017, stopping in Edmonton this weekend. Pitchers Marco Estrada and Aaron Sanchez, as well as fielders Kevin Pillar and Devon Travis, hosted a meet-and-greet on Friday night at Rogers Place, visited the Oilers locker room this morning and will attend tonight's game against the Calgary Flames.

FORD STREET TEAM
Our Ford Street Team hit the road again this week in their 2017 Explorer to camp out at an Edmonton location and award Oilers fans with prizes! The team parked outside St. Joseph's Basilica downtown on Friday afternoon to give away some game tickets and other prizes. Congrats to this week's lucky fans and make sure you stay tuned to our social media channels to find out about future giveaway locations!

GIFS OF THE WEEK
This week's top GIF moments come from Thursday's thrilling overtime victory against the New Jersey Devils! The Oilers were down 2-1 in the third period, but Pat Maroon scored the equalizer for his sixth goal in the span of a week to send the game to sudden death, before Connor McDavid set up Leon Draisaitl for the glorious game-winner.

OIL COUNTRY SPOTLIGHT
January 14 is pretty much an unofficial holiday in #OilCountryas it's Connor McDavid's birthday!
