The Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation is proud to bring back league leading Learn to Skate, Little Penguins Learn to Play, Try Hockey for Free and other programs to the Hunt Armory.

  • Learn to Skate - Introductory program that teaches the basic skills of ice skating. Open to children ages 4 to 10, looking to develop a strong skating foundation in small class sizes with Learn to Skate USA certified coaches.
  • Learn to Play - Sidney Crosby’s Little Penguins Learn to Play Hockey is an introductory program for children ages 5 to 10 to learn the basic skills of ice hockey. The program provides first-time participants with full hockey equipment and weekly appropriate on-ice instruction from certified coaches in a fun and safe atmosphere. It is strongly recommended that children complete a Learn to Skate program prior. The Little Penguins program is presented by the NHL and NHLPA with the support of Crosby and DICK’S Sporting Goods.
  • Try Hockey for Free - Try Hockey for Free, presented by U. S. Steel is a 1-hour clinic available for children ages 4 to 9 who wish to give the sport of hockey a try with no cost or commitment. No prior skating and/or hockey experience is required for participation. Equipment will be provided for each participant.
