The 33-year old Crosby has once again put together a dominant, MVP-caliber season. His team-high 55 points (20G-35A) are tied for eighth-most in the NHL, but second-most in the East Division. His goal also made him the first player in franchise history to record 20 or more goals in 13 seasons with the team.

Crosby has also stepped up and delivered when it's mattered the most. After losing alternate captain Evgeni Malkin due to a lower-body injury, Crosby's gone on to record a team-best 26 points (9G-17A) in the 19 games Malkin has missed. Overall, Pittsburgh sits first in the East Division and is tied for the fourth-most points (65) in the NHL with a 31-14-3 record despite a staggering 243 man-games lost due to injury.
The two-time Hart Trophy winner has also excelled on the defensive side of the game. Entering today's game, he ranks second in the NHL with 574 faceoff wins, and is tied for sixth in the league with 41 takeaways. His 55.8% win-rate on defensive zone draws is the second-highest of his career, and 11th best in the NHL (min. 150 defensive zone faceoffs).
