GAME PREVIEW

The Penguins conclude their two-game homestand against the New York Rangers at PPG Paints Arena. Today's game is presented by the Pennsylvania Lottery, and doors to the arena for fans will open at 6:00 PM. Pittsburgh has points in 14 of its last 17 games versus New York (11-3-3), and is 15-5-3 in its last 23 games versus the Rangers. Here at PPG Paints Arena, the Penguins have five-straight wins versus the Rangers (5-0-0) and have points in eight-straight home games against them (7-0-1). Pittsburgh is 12-5-2 against Metropolitan Division opponents this season. The Penguins have points in 11 of their last 14 games overall (9-3-2).

PENGUINS TO HONOR ROETHLISBERGER

The Penguins will honor two-time Super Bowl Champion and Steelers great, Ben Roethlisberger, for a remarkable career prior to the game tonight. Roethlisberger will be on hand for a ceremonial puck drop prior to the start of the game. Fans are encouraged to be in their seats early for a special pregame ceremony and to bring their Terrible Towels.

QUICK HITS

Sidney Crosby's next point will see him hit the 70-point plateau for the 12th time in his career, which would be tied with Alex Ovechkin (12) and Joe Thornton (12) for most among active players.
Bryan Rust, who has 55 points (22G-33A) in 45 games, is one point shy of tying his career-high point total of 56 set in 55 games in the 2019-20 season. Since the beginning of the 2019-20 campaign, Rust has 153 points (71G-82A) in 156 games.
Rickard Rakell has nine points (3G-6A) in 13 career games against the New York Rangers.
The Penguins have wins in four-straight home games. A win tonight could give them their second home winning streak of five or more games (8-0-0 from Dec. 11-Jan. 25). Only Minnesota (6) has a longer active home winning streak than Pittsburgh.
Since 2006-07, the Penguins are the only club to record a 40-win season on 14 separate occasions.

CHASING HISTORY

With just 15 games left on the regular-season schedule, Penguins captain Sidney Crosby, who has 69 points (24G-45A) in 55 games this year, needs one point to reach the 70-point plateau and ensure that he will average a point per game for the 17th time in his career. Only Wayne Gretzky (19) and Gordie Howe (17) have accomplished such a feat:
| Wayne Gretzky | 19 | | Gordie Howe | 17 | | Sidney Crosby | 16 | | Five Players | 15 | | Player | Seasons averaging 1.00+ PTS/GM | | --- | --- |
Only Crosby and Gretzky started their careers with 16-plus straight point-per-game seasons.
