In their last game on Wednesday in Buffalo, the Penguns debuted their Reverse Retro jerseys, featuring the legendary 'Robo Pen' made famous by Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr throughout the 1990s.

The boys wanted to do those legends proud, so when Jason Zucker blasted home a one-timer off a feed from Evgeni Malkin, he celebrated with Jagr's iconic salute. The inspiration came from Bryan Rust and Jake Guentzel.
"I have to give credit to Rusty and Guentz. That was their idea," Zucker told AT&T Sports rinkside reporter Dan Potash during the first intermission. "I just happened to get the goal before them. Whoever scored, hopefully one of us was (laughs), was going to do it. Shoutout to Jagr and that whole team."

And on Thursday, Jagr gave Zucker a shout out right back with a video that he posted to social media.
"Hello hockey fans," Jagr began. "I heard about the salute Jason Zucker did when he scored. I was reading some comments. Some people like it, some people don't. I love it, and I feel like they showed a lot of respect for our era, for our team, because we also had a lot of great players. so thank you Penguins, thank you Jason. And by the way, Jason - keep working on your shot, because it wasn't hard enough."
Jagr ended the video with a salute of his own.

"I thought it was a great response," Zucker said before jokingly adding, "I didn't think my shot was that weak, but I guess I'll have to start working on it a little bit after practice. It was good, it was cool to see that. He's a legend of the game, and nothing but respect for him and what he did in that league. Especially for that era, he was a guy that revolutionized the game, so it was cool to see him send a response like that and take it the way he did. It was just a fun way to pay our respects to them and honor them in a fun way during the game."
After the video went live, the Penguins immediately started sending it around the group chat. Opinions were split on the velocity of the shot, but everyone agreed it was pretty freakin' awesome to have one of the best to ever play acknowledge the gesture.
"I had a few guys send it to me and were obviously chirping me for my shot, too," Zucker said. "Then I had a few guys come to my defense and actually say it was a hard shot. We'll have to see what the tracker says and see how fast it actually was. It was fun to see."
