Jaromir-Jagr-50th-anniversary

As part of the team's 50th anniversary celebration, the Penguins are presenting unique commemorative pieces - made from the Civic Arena roof - to prominent former players and staff members during the 2016-17 season. Today's recipient was Jaromir Jagr.

Each piece features the player's name and number with the Penguins, as well as the team's 50th anniversary logo.

The first presentations were made to alums who attended the "Early Years" celebration on October 15 vs. Anaheim at PPG Paints Arena. Anaheim Ducks coach Randy Carlyle, who won the Norris Trophy as a Penguins defenseman in 1980-81, also received a commemorative 50th anniversary piece that night.

The pieces are made by Wendell August Forge of Grove City.

Jagr played for the Penguins from 1990-2001, winning five NHL scoring championships and contributing to two Stanley Cups. Jagr and the Florida Panthers are in town to take on the Penguins.
