Registration Begins Nov. 6 For Sidney Crosby's Little Penguins Program

Registration begins on Tuesday, November 6 for the winter session of Sidney Crosby's unique Little Penguins "Learn to Play Hockey" program.
Up to 2,000 boys and girls ages 4-9 in Western Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia will receive FREE head-to-toe hockey equipment and learn the fundamentals of the sport at one of 28 participating area rinks. There will be three sessions this year - fall (taking place now), winter and spring.

The program, now in its 11th season, has provided free equipment and lessons to more than 10,000 local youngsters.
"Little Penguins" is presented courtesy of Crosby, the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation, DICK'S Sporting Goods, CCM and USA Hockey. "Learn to Play Hockey" programs are also made possible by the support of the NHL and NHLPA.
"This is another tremendous example of Sid's continuing commitment to the kids of our region," said David Morehouse, president and CEO of the Penguins. "He is a great leader both on the ice and in the community."
Each participating child will received free CCM hockey equipment, including: skates, hockey helmet (with cage), shoulder pads, elbow pads, hockey gloves, hockey pants, shin guards, socks, Little Penguins jersey, stick and equipment bag. The only fee will be for ice time for 10 "Learn to Play Hockey" sessions.
The Learn to Play program began in Pittsburgh in 2008 and has since become a league-wide initiative for the NHL.
