The Pittsburgh Penguins have activated forward Teddy Blueger from injured reserve, it was announced today by general manager Ron Hextall.

Blueger, 27, underwent surgery to repair a fractured jaw on Jan. 24 and has missed the last 16 games.
Blueger has played in 40 games for Pittsburgh this season, recording eight goals, nine assists, 17 points and a plus-7. A vital member of the Penguins' third-ranked penalty kill (85.5%), Blueger ranks first among forwards and third on the team averaging 2:06 minutes of shorthanded time-on-ice per game.
This season marks Blueger's fourth in the NHL where he has totaled 30 goals, 41 assists, 71 points and a plus-26 in 180 games. In that span, the 6-foot, 185-pound forward ranks eighth on Pittsburgh in goals and points, while leading the team with five shorthanded goals.
