Penguins Extend Qualifying Offers to Five Players

Defenseman Jack Johnson Placed on Unconditional Waivers

The Pittsburgh Penguins have extended qualifying offers to five restricted free agents, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.
Defenseman Jack Johnson has also been placed on unconditional waivers for the purpose of a buyout.

Below is a list of Pittsburgh's restricted free agents that have received a qualifying offer.
Forwards:
Pontus Aberg
Anthony Angello
Sam Lafferty
Sam Miletic
Goaltender:
Matt Murray
Forwards Graham Knott and Dominik Simon, as well as defenseman John Nyberg, will not receive qualifying offers and will become unrestricted free agents on Friday, October 9 at 12:00PM ET.
The 2020 NHL Draft will be held virtually on October 6-7. Round 1 will take place at 7:00PM ET on Tuesday, October 6, while Rounds 2-7 will begin at 11:30AM ET on Wednesday, October 7. Free agency will open this Friday, October 9, at 12:00PM ET.
