The Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation raised $20,000 from its auction of green St. Patrick's Day jerseys and will donate $5,000 each to four community groups working on behalf of those impacted by coronavirus COVID-19.
Donations are being made to: The Penguins' donation to the Salvation Army program, in particular, will provide 1,700 meals in one week. "We want to thank our fans for once again coming through to assist residents of our community who are in need at this difficult time," said Jim Britt, executive director of the Penguins Foundation.
