O'Connor, 23, has split this season between Pittsburgh and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL. With Pittsburgh, O'Connor has suited up for 22 games, registering three goals, two assists and five points. With WBS, the 6-foot-3, 200-pound forward has recorded 14 points (7G-7A) in 13 games. His 1.08 points-per-game average leads WBS.
The Chatham, New Jersey native has picked up six points (3G-3A) in 32 NHL games, and has 33 points (14G-19A) in 33 AHL contests.
Prior to turning pro, O'Connor played two seasons of collegiate hockey with Dartmouth. During his final season with the team in 2019-20, he recorded a team-leading 21 goals and 33 points in 31 games. His 21 goals ranked fifth in the entire NCAA, and he was named the NCAA Ivy-League Player of the Year and was also selected to the All-Ivy League First Team. In 65 career games with Dartmouth, O'Connor collected 38 goals, 21 assists and 59 points.
O'Connor originally signed with Pittsburgh as an undrafted free agent on March 10, 2020.
