Dea, 23, is the WBS Penguins' third-leading scorer this season, having produced nine goals, 14 assists and 23 points with a plus-13 in 36 games. The fourth-year pro is on pace to produce career highs in assists and points.
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound native of Laval, Quebec has three goals, six assists and nine points in his past 10 games. Dea has recorded at least one point in eight of the 10 games.
Last season, Dea made his NHL debut in the Penguins' season-finale against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden. He skated as a member of the Pens' 'Black Aces' playoff practice squad during their back-to-back championship runs in 2016 and '17.
In four-plus AHL seasons with WBS, Dea has compiled 114 points (57G-57A) and a plus-40 in 228 regular-season games. He has added three points (2G-1A) in 19 postseason contests.
Dea originally signed with Pittsburgh as an undrafted free agent on September 17, 2013.
