justin schultz training camp

The Pittsburgh Penguins will officially begin the 2018-19 season when training camp starts on Friday, September 14 at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry, Pa.
Players will hit the ice for the first time on Friday morning at 9:00 AM, with Teams 1 and 2 practicing until about 9:45 AM, then scrimmaging from 10:00-10:45 AM. Team 3 will have two practice sessions, the first one at 11:30 AM and the second beginning at 12:45 PM.
All training camp practices at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex will once again be free of charge and open to the public.

General manager Jim Rutherford and his staff have invited 56 players to camp this year, including 32 forwards, 18 defensemen and six goaltenders. Click here to view the complete camp roster.
Captain Sidney Crosby headlines a roster that includes 19 returnees from last spring's playoff lineup. He is joined by alternate captains Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang, two-time Stanley Cup-winning goaltender Matt Murray and Phil Kessel, who is coming off of a career year with 92 points.
Among this season's fresh faces are Matt Cullen, Jack Johnson and Derek Grant, all of whom signed with the Penguins as free agents. Cullen, who helped the Pens win Stanley Cups in 2016 and '17, returns for a second tour of duty after spending last season with the Minnesota Wild. Johnson arrives in Pittsburgh after having played some of the best hockey of his NHL career against the Penguins in playoff series in 2014 and '17 with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Grant enjoyed a breakout campaign with the Anaheim Ducks in 2017-18, scoring 12 goals and 24 points in 66 contests.
Following four days of practices and scrimmages, the Penguins will open preseason action with back-to-back road games. Pittsburgh will visit the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday, September 18 at 7:00 PM, and follow that up with a visit to Detroit to play the Red Wings on Wednesday, September 19 at 7:30 PM.
The Penguins skate at PPG Paints Arena for the first time on Saturday, September 22 when they host the Columbus Blue Jackets at 3:00 PM. One day later, the Penguins will celebrate the annual "Free Game for Kids" when they host the Red Wings at 3:00 PM. Pittsburgh's final home preseason matchup will be September 26 against Buffalo at 7:00 PM.
Pittsburgh wraps up the regular season by visiting Columbus on Friday, September 28 at 7:00 PM at Nationwide Arena.
