Registration is now open for the fall session of Sidney Crosby's Little Penguins 'Learn to Play Hockey' program. The program, now in its 16th season, has provided equipment and lessons to more than 15,400 local children since its inception in 2008.

New to the program this season, participating children will receive a monthly newsletter with exclusive content for participants, discounts on Penguins tickets, exclusive program rewards at Penguins games, special event opportunities, as well as a welcome packet and gift for each child.

In the 'Little Penguins' introductory program, children ages 5-9 years old will learn the fundamental skills of hockey in a fun and safe environment, inspiring families to join the sport of hockey. The program consists of 8-10 sessions of on-ice instruction by certified coaches, and is offered annually at over 20 locations throughout Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio and West Virginia.

As part of the program, each participating child will also receive head-to-toe hockey equipment, including skates, hockey helmet (with cage), shoulder pads, elbow pads, hockey gloves, hockey pants, shin guards, socks, Little Penguins jersey, stick and equipment bag.

Fall session registration will be open from Friday, July 14 through Sunday, August 13 and spots for the program are limited. More information and registration details are available at https://www.nhl.com/penguins/community/learn-to-play.

The 'Little Penguins' program is presented by the NHL and NHLPA with support of Sidney Crosby, DICK'S Sporting Goods and USA Hockey. The 'Learn to Play' program began in Pittsburgh in 2008 and has since become a league-wide initiative for the NHL.
