Big Games, New Rivalries Plentiful in Upcoming Predators Season

They're finally here.
In case you hadn't heard, single game tickets for the Nashville Predators 2022-23 season are now available to the general public, including their entire slate of home games.
If you're not sure which tickets to drop into your cart just yet, our home schedule guide below may be able to nudge you in the right direction:

The Main Attractions

2022-23 Home Opener
Stars vs. Preds: Thursday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. CT
There is nothing quite like Opening Night in Smashville, and this year the Preds will kick things off in high-stakes fashion when they face off against the Central Division foe Dallas Stars. There's plenty more to look forward to, but for now we'll simply say that if you're looking for plenty of fanfare to go with your Preds hockey, this is one night you won't want to miss.
First Saturday Night in Smashville
Flyers vs. Preds: Saturday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. CT
If you've been around Nashville long enough, or maybe just downtown in the last year, you know that the Music City knows how to throw a party - and some of the best of those happen on Saturday Nights in Smashville. This season the Saturday night festivities return when the Philadelphia Flyers come to town on Oct. 22.
GOLD Games
Blackhawks vs. Preds: Thursday, March 16 at 7 p.m. CT
One of the Predators oldest rivalries continues at Bridgestone Arena on Thursday, March 16 when the team faces off against the Chicago Blackhawks. Although the Hawks have strayed from their Stanley Cup-winning ways of years past, the ongoing rivalry with Nashville always gives Smashville plenty to look forward to. Regular Season Finale
Wild vs. Preds: Thursday, April 13 at 7 p.m. CT
If there's nothing like Opening Night in Smashville, the Predators home finale is no different. This year, Nashville will conclude both their home schedule and their regular season in front of the home crowd when they host the Central Division rival Minnesota Wild. While there's currently no way of knowing exactly how crucial this game will be to the Predators postseason chances, a solid finish and a full showing from the fans certainly never hurts.

New Rivalries

Lightning vs. Preds: Saturday, Nov. 19 at 1 p.m. CT
The last time the Tampa Bay Lightning came to town, they were greeted by more than 60,000 of Smashville's loudest fans outdoors at Nissan Stadium. While that game didn't go the Predators way, it did lay the groundwork for a budding rivalry between two of the south's best hockey clubs - made even more interesting this year by Nashville's offseason acquisition of former Tampa defenseman Ryan McDonagh.
Avalanche vs. Preds: Friday, Nov. 25 at 1 p.m. CT
It's no secret that Nashville's postseason did not go the way anyone would have liked, and it's safe to assume the Predators will be looking for a good bit of revenge when the Stanley Cup Champion Colorado Avalanche come back to town on Friday, Nov. 25.
Flames vs. Preds: Monday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. CT
Some of the most exciting hockey in franchise history happened at Bridgestone Arena this past spring as the Predators faced off against the Calgary Flames twice in less than 10 days - in what many expected to be a postseason preview. What ensued was six periods, two overtimes and a shootout full of big hits, heated fights and plenty of goals. Smashville definitely won't want to miss the follow-up when the Flames return to Bridgestone on Monday, Jan. 16.

Familiar Faces

Luke Kunin & Matt Benning
Sharks vs. Preds: Friday, Oct. 7
While this 'home game' will technically be played nearly 5,000 miles from Bridgestone Arena as part of the 2022 NHL Global Series, fans determined to make the European trip will get to see Luke Kunin and Matt Benning take the ice against their former teammates in San Jose Sharks teal, after the pair landed with the club this offseason.

Mathieu Olivier
Blue Jackets vs. Preds: Saturday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. CT
Forward Mathieu Olivier - one of the original members of the Predators 'Herd Line' - will return to Bridgestone Arena in Blue Jackets navy and red on Nov. 26 - a Saturday Night in Smashville, no less - after being traded to Columbus this offseason. Fans eager to welcome the 'Biloxi Bull' back to Smashville can purchase their tickets now.
Nick Cousins
Panthers vs. Preds: Saturday, Feb. 18 at 1 p.m. CT
Forward Nick Cousins played in 120 games over two seasons with Nashville, and in that time helped reshape the Predators into the hard-nosed, physical team they are today. Cousins will return to Smashville with the Florida Panthers for a Saturday matinee on Feb. 18, after the free agent signed with the club this offseason.
