The Nashville Predators, unable to dig out of an early four-goal deficit, dropped a 5-1 decision to the Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena Tuesday.
Juuse Saros surrendered four goals in the first period before being replaced in net by Kevin Lankinen. Filip Forsberg scored Nashville's lone goal of the game, unassisted on the breakaway in the second period. With the victory, the Kraken extended their franchise-record winning streak to five games.

THREE TAKEAWAYS

A Tough Team to Krak
The Predators are now 1-3-0 all-time against the NHL's newest franchise, including a 1-2-0 record on the road. Nashville went 1-2-0 vs. Seattle last season, earning the franchise's first win against the Kraken on Jan. 25 (4-2).
The Kraken have now scored four or more goals in three of four games against the Preds dating back to last season.
Saros Gets the Hook
Tuesday marked the sixth time in 10 starts that Saros has surrendered a goal within the first three shots he faced in a game. He was replaced by Lankinen with 3:35 remaining in the first period after allowing four goals on six shots to open the game in Seattle.
The Preds trailed 4-0 after the first period against the Kraken, after trailing 3-0 after the first frame in Vancouver on Saturday. Lankinen saved all 13 shots he faced, with Seattle's fifth goal scored into the empty net in the third period.
Filthy Fil Strikes Again
With his unassisted goal in the second period vs. Seattle, Forsberg now has six points through the first four games of the Predators five-game road trip. Forsberg passed Martin Erat for sole possession of third place on the Predators' all-time points list with his 481st on Thursday at Calgary. He leads Nashville in points with 12 (4g-8a) after recording his third multi-point outing in his last five games against the Flames (1g-1a).

Forsberg has 10 points (3g-7a) in his last seven games dating back to Oct. 22 vs. Philadelphia. He's recorded two three-point games in that time frame - Oct. 27 vs. St. Louis (3a) and Nov. 1 at Edmonton (1g-2a). The latter was Forsberg's 32nd career three-point game, the most in Predators history.

THEY SAID IT

Roman Josi on Nashville's overall effort:
"It's tough going down 4-0 in the first. To be honest, I didn't think we started that bad. We just gave them very big chances and they scored on them. But we've got to push. We got that goal in the second but we got into a pretty big hole going down 4-0 in the first period and it's the second time that we've given up a few early goals in two games, so we've got to figure out our start."
Roman Josi on costly turnovers in the first period:
"Like I said, I didn't think we played that bad. The goals they got we kind of gave to them and they were massive chances in front of our net. So, we've got to clear that up. Obviously you can't give a team that many grade-A looks and that's definitely something we need to be better at."
Head Coach John Hynes on Nashville's overall effort:
"It got away from us in the first. We had some tough decisions that we made and gave up some easy offense, whether that was decisions up ice that created some odd man rushes, we had a couple of breakout turnovers that wound up on their tape and right in the slot. That's not how we want to be able to play in the first period, for sure… Tonight was a different situation [than Vancouver]. And when you look at it, yes, we give up the first goal again early, in the first minute basically. And then we had an ill-advised pinch and gave up an odd man rush and then we had two breakout turnovers that wound up right in the back of the net with some real quality looks on that. So, that was more of our execution than it was anything else."
Head Coach John Hynes on Kevin Lankinen's performance:
"He came in and played well. We made some pushes in the game but he made some big plays for us. I thought he came in and played well and played solid and kept it at four when we were trying to claw our way back into the game. So, he did his job."
