Predators Head Coach John Hynes said he will make changes to his team's lineup for Game 2.
He actually said prior to Game 1 that was a likely next step independent of the result in the opening game of the series. With roughly 30 healthy players, Nashville has options for how they approach the matchups and respond to the performances of certain players in games. Coach Hynes said he is considering changes to the third pairing on defense and perhaps a switch at forward, but he said the main thing needed is for the Predators' core group of players, who get the majority of ice time, to play a lot better.
Nashville held a 1-0 lead and entered the third period tied at 2 apiece, but the Carolina Hurricanes claimed Game 1, 5-2. Defenseman Jaccob Slavin returned for the Hurricanes on Monday, while forward Cedric Paquette remained out. Winger Viktor Arvidsson was back on the ice for Nashville in Game 1.
