The Nashville Predators (3-3-0) will look for their third straight win as they host the Vancouver Canucks (3-2-0) on Tuesday at Bridgestone Arena.

Puck drop is at 8:15 p.m. CT as part of the NHL’s first-ever "Frozen Frenzy" event showcasing all 32 teams in continuous action on Tuesday across ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN+. The game will be broadcast on Bally Sports South, 102.5 The Game and El Jefe Radio. Here's everything you need to know:

LAST TIME OUT

Nashville scored a season-high five goals in a 5-1 win over the San Jose Sharks on Saturday at Bridgestone Arena. Samuel Fagemo scored on the power play in his Predators debut, and Nashville scored multiple power-play goals (2) in two consecutive games.

Ten different Predators skaters recorded a point, led by two each from Luke Evangelista (1g-1a), Tommy Novak (2g), Gustav Nyquist (2a) and Kiefer Sherwood (1g-1a). Sherwood also became the first player in Preds history to record a “Gordie Howe Hat Trick” in a single period.

ALL-TIME MEETINGS

The Predators are 35-39-(2)-7 all-time against the Canucks, including a 19-16-(1)-6 record at Bridgestone Arena. This is the first of three matchups between Nashville and Vancouver in 2023-24 and the first of two at home. 

Nashville went 2-0-1 in three games against Vancouver last season, with all three contests requiring overtime. The Predators won the first two meetings in a shootout and earned a point in the third and final game between the two teams in a shootout loss.

  • Dante Fabbro hails from Coquitlam, B.C., and has two assists in nine career games vs. Vancouver.
  • Tyson Barrie is a native of Victoria, B.C. He has 27 points (6g-21a), including two game-winning goals, in 41 career meetings with the Canucks.
  • Roman Josi has points in six of his last nine games (1g-5a) against Vancouver. He also has 15 points (1g-14a) in his last 18 games vs. the Canucks and posted a six-game point streak (7a) against Vancouver from Jan. 10, 2017-Dec. 13, 2018.
  • Luke Evangelista scored his first two career NHL goals on March 6, 2023 at Vancouver. He became the second player (Jordan Gross) in Predators history to score his first two career NHL goals in the same game. 
  • Alexandre Carrier skated in his first career NHL game on Jan. 17, 2017 at Vancouver.

On the Attack: Nashville leads the NHL in shots on goal (207) and is third in shots on goal per game (34.5). Forsberg owns a share of the NHL lead in shot attempts with Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon (56); Josi is tied for sixth (47).

Advanced Stats: Through six games, the Predators lead the NHL in expected goals for (13.84) and are second in expected goal percentage (5-on-5) at 59.1 percent, per MoneyPuck.com. Nashville is also second in high-danger shots for (17) and is fourth in expected goals for per 60 minutes (2.87). Per MoneyPuck.com, Nashville’s forward line of Forsberg-O’Reilly-Pärssinen leads the NHL in expected goals for percentage at 76.5 percent (among forward lines with at least 40 minutes of ice time together). 

Big Filly Style: Forsberg leads the Predators with five points (1g-4a) through six games, and his four assists are tied with Barrie for the team high.

Tommy Hockey: Novak has scored a team-high four goals this season, including two on the power play.

Mighty RO’R: Ryan O’Reilly has four points (2g-2a) in his first six games with the Predators. He is currently three games away from 1,000 in his NHL career.

THE OTHER GUYS

The Canucks snapped a two-game skid on Saturday with a 5-3 win over the Florida Panthers. With 10 points (2g-8a) through five five games, Vancouver center Elias Pettersson recorded a goal and an assist in the win and is tied with New Jersey Devils center Jack Hughes for the NHL lead.
