The Predators are back in the United States looking for a clean sweep of their four-game road trip as they face the Colorado Avalanche this afternoon in Denver. It's the third of four meetings this season between the two clubs; Nashville has beaten the Avalanche twice at Bridgestone Arena.
Nashville has gone three-for-three on their current excursion with wins over Winnipeg, Edmonton and Vancouver. The Preds have erased a two-goal deficit at least once in each of their last three games, coming back to win in three straight for the first time in franchise history when facing such a situation.
Forward Mike Fisher returned to the Nashville lineup on Friday night in Vancouver, scoring a goal in his return and going 11-for-13 in the faceoff circle. Roman Josi, Craig Smith, Scott Hartnell and Yannick Weber were all scratched for Nashville on Friday, and while all four players were available to play, Head Coach Peter Laviolette described the decision as "maintenance," a tactic the bench boss says his club may use often down the stretch.

Last Time Out:
After trailing 2-0 in the second period, the Predators came back to ultimately defeat the Canucks by a 4-3 final in overtime. Calle Jarnkrok scored the winner, while Fisher, Kevin Fiala and Ryan Ellis also tallied. Juuse Saros got the win in net, his seventh victory of the season.
P.K. Subban leads the club in scoring with 49 points, followed by Viktor Arvidsson with 48 points and Filip Forsberg with 45. Arvidsson's 24 goals lead the team, Fiala has 21 on the season and Craig Smith has 20.
The Opposition:
Colorado has won all three games of their current homestand, including a 7-1 victory over Minnesota on Friday night. Nathan MacKinnon leads the Avalanche with 31 goals and 76 points, followed by Mikko Rantanen with 63 points and Gabriel Landeskog with 47. Both Rantanen and Landeskog have 21 goals apiece. Semyon Varlamov is 18-13-3 on the season; Jonathan Bernier has gone 17-11-2.
All-Time Meetings:
The Predators are 40-28-(5)-3 all-time against the Avalanche, including a 18-16-(2)-2 all-time mark against Colorado at Pepsi Center. Nashville has an active eight-game winning streak against Colorado - including four straight on the road - that dates back to April 5, 2016. The Preds have outscored the Avalanche 34-17 during their eight-game winning streak.
Notables Versus Colorado:
Roman Josi has points (4g-8a) in eight-straight games versus Colorado, including four multi-point contests, while Filip Forsberg has averaged more than a point per game in his career against Colorado, recording 21 points (10g-11a) in 18 games.
