A five-game journey out west for the Nashville Predators begins tonight in Denver as they face the Colorado Avalanche. It's the first of four meetings between the two division rivals this season and the first contest since Nashville eliminated Colorado in six games during Round One of the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Preds are one of just two NHL teams to remain undefeated on the road this season, going 6-0-0 away from Bridgestone Arena. In order to continue that streak, they'll need to find a way to shut down one of the top lines in the League, consisting of Avs forwards Nathan MacKinnon, Gabriel Landeskog and Mikko Rantanen.
"They've got a lot of speed and a lot of skill and throughout the whole lineup, and it's a really fast team," Preds Captain Roman Josi said of the Avalanche. "It was a really tough series last year and they had a good start this year, so it's going to be a tough game."

Nashville forward Viktor Arvidsson, who is currently on Injured Reserve with a lower-body injury, practiced on Tuesday in a non-contact jersey and did not take part in line rushes. Winger Ryan Hartman skated alongside Ryan Johansen and Filip Forsberg on Monday and Tuesday.

Last Time Out:
Just hours after signing a two-year contract to remain in Nashville through the 2020-21 season, Preds goaltender Pekka Rinne pitched a 26-save shutout for a 1-0 victory over the Bruins on Saturday night. Josi scored the lone tally in the game to give their Predators their third consecutive win.
Johansen leads the Preds in scoring with 15 points, followed by Forsberg (14), Arvidsson (12), Kyle Turris (11) and P.K. Subban (10). Forsberg's 10 goals pace the club, while Josi and Craig Smith have four goals apiece.
The Opposition:
Colorado started hot but has dropped three-straight, including a pair of high-scoring affairs in Western Canada last week, the latter of which was a 7-6 decision in overtime against Vancouver. Rantanen leads the team - and the entire NHL - in scoring with 24 points, followed by MacKinnon with 21 points and Landeskog with 18. MacKinnon and Landeskog have 11 goals each; Rantanen and Carl Soderberg have five apiece. Semyon Varlamov has gone 4-3-2 in net with a .936 save percentage.

During the streak, Nashville has posted four goals per game and has held Colorado to two-or-fewer goals six times. The Preds have won six in a row over the Avalanche at the Pepsi Center.
