The Nashville Predators will finish their California excursion with the toughest test of the trip tonight in San Jose against the Sharks at 9:30 p.m. CT. It's the third and final meeting of the season between the two clubs, and the Preds are in search of their first win over the Sharks on the campaign.
After beginning the trip with a disappointing loss in Anaheim on Tuesday, the Preds rebounded for a 3-1 victory in Los Angeles on Thursday. Not only was the group pleased with the win on the scoreboard, they were also left satisfied with how they got there - by sticking to the process and playing the "right way" for an overwhelming majority of the night.
As the Predators roll into San Jose, the focus will be on building off of Thursday's effort against a Sharks team that sits one point below the top of the Western Conference standings.

"There's two ways of looking at it - you can look down and feel bad about yourself or pick up your crap and move forward, and I think that's what we're doing here," Preds forward Craig Smith said following Thursday's game. "We're taking some ownership in our game from what happened in Anaheim, and that's what this group has been good at the last couple years. We take ownership of the way we show up and the way we want to play, so we have to take this game forward and try to replicate it in San Jose."
The Predators did not practice on Friday before travelling to San Jose.

Last Time Out:
Viktor Arvidsson, Colton Sissons and Smith tallied for the Preds on Thursday night against the Kings, and Pekka Rinne collected his 25th win of the season. Arvidsson's goal was his 29th of the season - the third-consecutive time he's hit the mark - and Ryan Johansen's assist on Arvidsson's tally was his 399th career point. In addition to his goal, Sissons also added a helper to collect points 26 and 27 on the season and tie a career high.
Johansen continues to lead the Preds with 57 points, followed by Roman Josi with 55 and Filip Forsberg with 43. Following Arvidsson's 29 goals are Forsberg with 24 and Smith with 19.
The Opposition:
The Sharks fell to Florida by a 4-2 final on Thursday night, but San Jose had won six straight prior to the defeat, including a late-game, 5-4 victory over Winnipeg earlier in the week.

Pavelski has 37 goals, Hertl has 31, and Evander Kane has 27 goals on the season. Goaltender Martin Jones is 34-14-5 in net for the Sharks with an .899 save percentage.
