The final contest against a Central Division foe in the regular season comes tonight for the Nashville Predators as they host the Minnesota Wild at Bridgestone Arena. It's the fifth and final meeting of the campaign between the two clubs with the Preds owning a 1-3-0 record against the Wild this season, including a 4-1 loss on Saturday in Minnesota.
The Predators have dropped three consecutive games but managed a point in a 5-4 shootout loss in Winnipeg on Sunday evening. While the ultimate result was disappointing, Nashville's effort, coming in the second half of a back-to-back against one of the League's top teams, was encouraging, an attribute they hope to build upon tonight.

"[Tonight's effort was] much better," Nashville defenseman Ryan Ellis said after Sunday's outing. "The last two games, I think we just weren't ourselves. We didn't look like anything we've been this whole year and tonight, on a back-to-back, versus arguably one of the best teams in the League, to put that effort out and get a point out of it - it's not [the result] we wanted - but it was much better by everyone involved. Much better effort."
Both Austin Watson and Yannick Weber were absent from Tuesday's morning skate and are listed as day-to-day with upper-body injuries.

Last Time Out:
Roman Josi, Kyle Turris, Ryan Ellis and Viktor Arvidsson all tallied against the Jets on Sunday, while Juuse Saros made 43 saves through 65 minutes of play in the loss. Viktor Arvidsson continues to lead the club with 28 goals and 58 points, followed by Filip Forsberg with 55 points and P.K. Subban with 54. Nashville has 13 players with at least 10 goals on the season.
The Opposition:
Minnesota has points in five consecutive games, including a 2-1 overtime loss to the Bruins on Sunday. The Wild signed forward Jordan Greenway to a contract on Monday and the Boston University star is expected to make his NHL debut tonight in Nashville.
Eric Staal leads the club with 39 goals and 72 points, followed by Jason Zucker with 30 goals and 59 points, and then Mikael Granlund with 19 tallies and 59 points as well. Devan Dubnyk is 32-14-6 on the season in net.

All-Time Meetings:
The Predators are 32-25-(5)-8 all-time against the Wild, including a 19-9-(2)-4 record at Bridgestone Arena. At home, Nashville has earned a point in five of its last six contests against Minnesota, going 4-1-1 with two consecutive victories. The Preds have shut out Minnesota, 3-0, in each of their last two games at Bridgestone Arena.
