The Predators own 11 selections in the 2023 NHL Draft, which will be hosted in Nashville at Bridgestone Arena on June 28-29 - one in each of the first, second and sixth rounds, two in the fifth round, and three in the third and fourth rounds. Nashville is now in possession of nine picks in the 2024 NHL Draft - one in each of the first, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh rounds and three in the second round. The Predators now have two first-round picks in the 2025 NHL Draft, their third time in franchise history possessing multiple first-round selections.
Foote, 24 (12/13/98), was selected by Tampa Bay with the 14th overall selection (first round) in the 2017 NHL Draft. He has played in 117 NHL contests since his debut in the 2020-21 season, posting 15 points (4g-11a) and 86 penalty minutes, including 26 games, three points (1g-2a) and 28 penalty minutes in 2022-23. Prior to turning pro, he spent three seasons with the Western Hockey League's Kelowna Rockets, being named to the WHL's Western Conference All-Star Team while captaining the team in 2018. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound defenseman also won gold with Canada at the 2018 World Junior Championship, posted three assists in seven games.
Born in Englewood, Colo., but with dual U.S.-Canadian citizenship, Cal Foote is the son of Adam Foote, a two-time Stanley Cup Champion, 2002 Olympic Gold Medalist, 2004 World Cup of Hockey Champion, veteran of 1,154 NHL games and former Colorado Avalanche captain, and brother of Nolan Foote, a defenseman in the New Jersey organization.
