Nashville, TN - Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced Saturday that the club has acquired forward Vernon Fiddler from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for a fourth-round selection in the 2017 Entry Draft.
Fiddler, 36 (5/9/80), has appeared in 857 NHL games over parts of 14 seasons with Nashville, Phoenix (Arizona), Dallas and New Jersey. He has recorded 260 points (103g-157a) in his career, including three points (1g-2a) in 39 games with the Devils this season. The Edmonton, Alberta, native earned an assist on a third-period goal on Dec. 3, 2016, against the Predators at Bridgestone Arena.
Originally signed by Nashville in 2002 as an undrafted free agent, Fiddler spent six seasons with the Predators from 2002-09, totaling 93 points (45g-48a) in 305 games. He earned a career-high 32 points (11g-21a) with the Preds in 2007-08.

The Preds return to the ice tonight against Detroit at Bridgestone Arena. The game will be televised at 7:00 p.m. CT on FOX Sports Tennessee and can be heard on the Predators' flagship radio station, 102.5 The Game.
