Parssinen, 21 (2/1/01), skated in his third full professional season with TPS of the Finnish Liiga in 2021-22, helping lead his team to the league final, where they fell to Tappara in five games, 4-1. The 6-foot-2, 203-pound center was third on his team and fifth among all Liiga skaters in postseason points with 12 (4g-8a); his playoff performance followed a regular season in which he scored a career-high nine goals and was second on TPS in assists (23) and third in points (32). Parssinen, who served as an alternate captain for TPS for the second straight season, was also fifth among Liiga U-22 skaters in assists and tied for sixth in points.
Originally drafted by the Predators in the seventh round (210th overall) of the 2019 NHL Draft, Parssinen has skated in 134 career Liiga games since making his pro debut in 2018-19, posting 87 points (23g-64a). He's spent his entire hockey career within the TPS system and played three seasons with its U-20 side from 2017-20, serving as an assistant captain twice. In addition to earning bronze with Finland's 2021 World Junior Championship team, Parssinen competed in the 2019 U-18 World Championship and the 2018 Hlinka Gretzky Cup; he also skated in the 2019 Spengler Cup with TPS.
