It's been said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Well, if you're a hockey fan, this is about as good as it gets after a long, hot summer.
As is the case every year about this time, the air conditioning was on full blast on Tuesday morning at Bridgestone Arena as workers began the process of putting in a fresh sheet of ice, the one that will see the 21st season of Predators hockey.
With the temperatures on the arena floor hovering around 15 degrees Fahrenheit, the razor-thin layer of water went down, followed by coats of finely-sprayed white paint. Then, it was time for a collection of lucky Predators Season-Ticket Citizens and social media contest winners to carefully step out to the surface and head for the neutral zone, brushes in hand.
