Predators Acquire Cody Glass, Philippe Myers in Three-Team Trade

Nashville, Tenn. (July 17, 2021) - Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the team has acquired defenseman Philippe Myers and forward Nolan Patrick from the Philadelphia Flyers for defenseman Ryan Ellis. The Predators then acquired forward Cody Glass from the Vegas Golden Knights for Patrick.
"We felt it was time for a change to our core this offseason, and we are really excited to add an influx of youth, size and skill into the lineup with these additions," Poile said. "Cody Glass is a former sixth overall pick that we think has a high ceiling as a center prospect, and Philippe Myers is a 6-foot-5 defenseman that adds an element that we do not currently have on our back end.
"At the same time, we will miss Ryan Ellis' leadership, dedication and work ethic in our locker room. We drafted Ryan in 2009, and over the last decade-plus he helped lead our franchise through its most competitive era, spending the last four seasons as Associate Captain. We wish Ryan and his family all the best in Philadelphia and thank him for all he did during his time with the Predators."

Glass, 22 (4/1/99), was selected by Vegas sixth overall in the 2017 Draft and turned pro in 2018-19 season following a decorated four-season career with the WHL's Portland Winterhawks which saw him amass 292 points (94g-198a) in 239 games, earning WHL West First-Team All-Star selection on three occasions. Since signing with the Golden Knights, the 6-2, 185-pound center has split time between the NHL (66gp, 9g-13a-22pts) and AHL (22gp, 8g-9a-17pts), most recently recording 10 points (4g-6a) in 27 games with Vegas and 10 points (4g-6a) in 14 games with Henderson during the 2020-21 campaign. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native represented his country at the 2019 World Junior Championship, being named one of Canada's three best players.
Myers, 24 (1/25/97), spent the 2020-21 season as a full-time NHLer with the Flyers, amassing 11 points (1g-10a) in 44 games. Since making his league debut with Philadelphia in 2018-19, he has appeared in 115 NHL contests, totaling 29 points (6g-23a) and 78 penalty minutes. The 6-5, 209-pound blueliner also has 109 AHL games to his credit since turning pro in 2017-18, totaling 28 points (14g-14a). The Moncton, New Brunswick native played four seasons of junior hockey with the QMJHL's Rouyn-Noranda Huskies from 2014-17 (203gp, 29g-63a-92pts), winning a league title and landing First-Team All-Star accolades in 2015-16. He was also a member of Team Canada's entry at the 2019 World Championship and 2017 World Junior Championship, earning a silver medals at both tournaments.
