Nashville, Tenn. (January 12, 2021) - Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the team has claimed defenseman Luca Sbisa on waivers from the Winnipeg Jets.

Originally drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the first round (19th overall) of the 2008 NHL Draft, Sbisa has suited up for 32 career Stanley Cup Playoff games, including five in the 2018 Stanley Cup Final with the Vegas Golden Knights. The Ozieri, Italy, native competes for Switzerland - the country he moved to as a child - on the international stage and has frequently played alongside Predators Captain Roman Josi, most notably during the 2016 World Cup of Hockey with Team Europe, earning silver, and at the 2010 Olympics.
