This $735,000 in funding further builds on the 2020-21 efforts of the Nashville Predators, Bridgestone Arena, Ford Ice Centers and Predators Foundation, which drove approximately $5.5 million in life-changing funds to assist a wide variety of tornado, pandemic, bombing and flood relief efforts, non-profit organizations and individuals in need across the Nashville community and surrounding areas.
Although the Predators Foundation will not host an in-person grant presentation ceremony at Bridgestone Arena this year, throughout the month, fans can follow along at @PredsNHL and @PredsFoundation on social media as recipient organizations are highlighted and details surrounding the 2021 grant program are shared. Also in April, the Predators Foundation will visit several of the nonprofits to facilitate check presentations and offer opportunities to volunteer with select grant recipients. Additional information will be announced in the coming days.
"The past year has been extremely difficult for many of our neighbors throughout Nashville and Middle Tennessee, so we are thrilled to provide these 184 grants in support of the countless community services offered by each organization." Nashville Predators Vice President of Community Relations Rebecca King said. "Despite the endless challenges we have faced in recent months, these nonprofits continue on with their amazing work, and we look forward to honoring and highlighting them this month and next."
The announcement of the 2021 grant allocation program comes shortly after the Predators Foundation and SmileDirectClub awarded their third SuperGrant of the season to Monroe Harding, bringing that program's total for the year to $158,837. Maple Built and Retrieving Independence are also recent recipients of a SuperGrant, which were introduced in 2019 to support programming or the completion of largescale projects that empower people during times of life transitions.
