Prokop, 18 (5/6/02), was Nashville's third choice in the 2020 NHL Draft, selected in the third round (73rd overall). The 6-foot-4, 217-pound blueliner spent the 2019-20 season with the WHL's Calgary Hitmen, where he was third among team defensemen in points with a career-high 23 (4g-19a) in 59 games. Prokop, who will play in his third WHL campaign with Calgary in 2020-21, also established career highs in goals (4), assists (19) and plus-minus (+4) last season, and added four assists in 11 postseason contests.
Internationally, the Edmonton, Alta., native represented Canada in the 2019 World U-17 Hockey Challenge as a member of the Canada White team and served as an alternate captain. Prokop - a product of the Pursuit of Excellence Hockey Academy in Kelowna, B.C. - lists the Predators as his favorite team growing up and was selected in the first round (seventh overall) in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft by the Hitmen.
