After making his NHL debut on Oct. 19, 2019 vs. Florida, Trenin went on to score his first career NHL goal in his next game on Dec. 7, 2019 vs. New Jersey and tacked on another one against the Los Angeles Kings less than a month later. The 6-foot-2, 201-pound forward averaged 9:44 of ice time with Nashville and registered at least one hit in 18 of his 21 contests.

Despite suiting up in just 32 of the Milwaukee Admirals' 63 games in 2019-20, Trenin tied for second on the team in goals with 20 and was seventh in points with 35 (20g-15a). Trenin, who began the season with Milwaukee, is a veteran of 155 career AHL games, tallying 87 points (40g-47a) and a +43 rating.
Originally drafted by the Predators in the second round (55th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft, Trenin played three seasons for the QMJHL's Gatineau Olympiques, where he tallied 195 points (74g-121a) in 169 games from 2014-17. Internationally, the Chelyabinsk, Russia, native represented his country at the 2017 World Junior Championship and posted four points (2g-2a) in seven contests.
