Nashville, Tenn. (July 22, 2021) - The Nashville Predators will begin their 24th NHL season presented by Fifth Third Bank with a four-game homestand starting Oct. 14 against the League's newest franchise, the Seattle Kraken.
Following a shortened 56-game regular season in 2020-21, in which Nashville only played teams from a realigned Central Division,
the 2021-22 campaign will see the Predators return to an 82-game schedule
, headlined by 40 contests at Bridgestone Arena and a 2022 NHL Stadium Series™ tilt against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Nissan Stadium on Feb. 26. Game start times will be announced at a later date.
The Predators will take part in Seattle's second-ever game as an NHL franchise and then shift to contests against Carolina, Los Angeles and the New York Rangers from Oct. 16-21 to close out the homestand. The first of 15 scheduled back-to-backs follows on Oct. 23-24 at Winnipeg and Minnesota, October's only two road games, with Nashville closing out the season's first month with home games vs. San Jose (Oct. 26) and the New York Islanders (Oct. 30).

Nashville kicks off November - tied for its busiest month both overall (15 games) and away from Bridgestone Arena (10 games), with December - by embarking on a season-long six-game road trip that will see the team hit Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Chicago, Dallas and St. Louis in a 10-day span from Nov. 2-11. After a quick trip home to take on Arizona (Nov. 13), the Preds will again depart for Canada to take on Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal from Nov. 16-20 before hosting Anaheim (Nov. 22) and Vegas (Nov. 24) at Bridgestone Arena. The team rounds out November with a home-road back-to-back against New Jersey and Colorado on Nov. 26-27, and a home contest vs. Columbus on Nov. 30.
There are 15 games in December, including 10 on the road. The month begins with home games against two Original 6 franchises in Boston (Dec. 2) and Montreal (Dec. 4) before the Predators leave for a four-game road trip against Detroit, the New York Islanders, New Jersey and the New York Rangers from Dec. 7-12. Home contests against Calgary (Dec. 14), Colorado (Dec. 16) and Winnipeg (Dec. 21), break up a road-heavy second half of the month that features games at Chicago, Carolina, Florida, Dallas, Washington and Columbus, with the latter three games coming on Dec. 27-30.
The Predators will ring in 2022 on home ice with a New Year's Day tilt against Chicago before heading west for a three-game road trip at Vegas, Los Angeles and Arizona from Jan. 4-8. The remainder of the month features alternating road swings and homestands; Nashville will host Colorado (Jan. 11) and Buffalo (Jan. 13), then it will head out for a two-game trip to Boston and St. Louis. The second half of a back-to-back on Jan. 18 vs. Vancouver will begin a stretch of three straight home games with contests against Winnipeg and Detroit scheduled on Jan. 20 and Jan. 22. To conclude the month, Nashville will make its first-ever visit to Seattle on Jan. 25 to take on the Kraken before facing Edmonton two days later.
February will feature just three games - all in Nashville - as the schedule was announced with a built-in break for the 2022 NHL All-Star Weekend in Las Vegas (Feb. 4-5) and the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics (Feb. 7-22). No final agreement or decision has been made to this point regarding the possible participation of NHL Players in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Talks remain ongoing. Subject to reaching agreement with the NHL Players' Association and the International Ice Hockey Federation on all outstanding issues, including appropriate COVID-19 insurance for NHL Players, the League has agreed, per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, to pause from Feb. 7-22, 2022 to accommodate NHL Player participation in the Olympic Games. The NHL and the NHL Players' Association will retain full authority to decide not to participate should COVID-19 conditions worsen or otherwise pose a threat to the health and safety of NHL Players, or for any other reason that may warrant such decision. In the event NHL Players participate in the 2022 Winter Olympics, the NHL regular season will resume on Wednesday, Feb. 23. If, for whatever reason, there is no NHL Player participation in the Olympics, a revised Regular Season schedule will be released which, to the greatest extent possible, will adopt the dates and games reflected in the schedule contemplating Olympic participation.
Before the NHL's All-Star Weekend, Nashville will host Vancouver on Feb. 1; following the Olympic break, the Preds will take on Dallas on Feb. 24, with the second outdoor game in team history, and the first to be hosted by the franchise, set for Feb. 26 against the defending Stanley Cup champion Lightning at Nissan Stadium as part of the 2022 NHL Stadium Series™.
March begins with Nashville's second trip to Seattle of the season (March 2) as part of a two-game stretch that finishes in San Jose (March 5). Seven of Nashville's next 12 contests will be at Bridgestone Arena, starting with a three-game homestand vs. Dallas, Anaheim and St. Louis from March 8-12. The following week features the second half of a back-to-back on the road in Minnesota (March 13) and a March 17 trip to Philadelphia - Nashville's first visit there since December 2018 - sandwiched between home games vs. Pittsburgh (March 15) and Toronto (19). A three-game road trip out west to Anaheim, Los Angeles and Vegas is scheduled for March 21-24 before the Predators close out the month at home against Philadelphia (March 27) and Ottawa (March 29).
April will see the team play at Bridgestone Arena nine times - more than any other month during the 2021-22 regular season - starting with the second half of a road-home back-to-back against Buffalo and Washington on April 1-2. Nashville's game vs. Washington highlights a two-week span in which the team will play seven of eight games on home ice from April 2-17, a run that will feature contests against Minnesota, Florida, Edmonton, San Jose, Chicago and St. Louis; a single-game trip to Pittsburgh is penciled in for April 10. The final five games will see the Preds travel to Tampa Bay (April 23) before hosting Minnesota on April 24 and Calgary on April 26, the final home contest of the regular season. Nashville will conclude the 2021-22 campaign with a road back-to-back set in Colorado and Arizona on April 28-29.
The 2021-22 schedule includes 12 Saturday home dates, featuring visits from the Hurricanes, Islanders, Coyotes, Canadiens, Blackhawks (twice), Red Wings, Blues, Maple Leafs, Capitals and Panthers. The Predators will play every Central Division club four times, with the exception of the Coyotes and Jets, who the team will see three times.
All regionally available games will be televised on Bally Sports South and the Bally Sports app. A full broadcast schedule will be announced at a later date.
