Just in time for the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the newest resident of Smashville has settled in.
His name is Gill, and he's one of four catfish who will call Bridgestone Arena home, yet another element added by the Predators to their home building in an effort to make it the most unique and best in sports.
The second catfish to be added, which could come prior to puck drop for Game 1 between the Preds and Avalanche, will be named Ben in remembrance of diehard Predators fan "Big Ben" Butzbach, who passed away earlier this season. Fans will then be able to vote on the remaining two names via online polls.
A longtime suggestion from Preds fans and the like, the addition of the catfish tank came with support from The Aquatic Critter, with the tank supplied by Predators owner Herb Fritch, originally built for use in his own home. Now, it's found a spot on the main concourse at Bridgestone Arena outside of Sections 117 and 118, a perfect spot for all passersby to enjoy.
