Nashville, TN - Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced Thursday that the club has recalled defenseman Alexandre Carrier from Milwaukee (AHL). Carrier has not appeared in an NHL game and this is his first career recall.
Carrier has played in all 34 games for Milwaukee this season and has earned 21 points (4g-17a). As an AHL rookie, the Quebec City native was named to the 2017 AHL All-Star Classic slated for later this month. He is tied for the team lead in assists and is tied for third in points, while also ranking among the league leaders in both categories among rookie defensemen. Selected by the Predators in the fourth round (115th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft, Carrier finished off a junior career with the Gatineau Olympiques of the QMJHL in 2016 where he tallied 137 points (29g-108a) in four seasons and was named a Second Team All-Star in 2015.
The Preds return to the ice tonight at 7:00 p.m. CT against Boston at Bridgestone Arena. The contest will be televised on FOX Sports Tennessee and can be heard on the Predators' flagship radio station, 102.5 The Game.
