The freedoms we enjoy as Americans - like cheering on the Nashville Predators - wouldn't be possible without the men and women of the United States military. Now, it's time to say thanks.
The Preds will host Military Appreciation Week, presented by Ford, over the coming days, to honor those who sacrifice to protect the nation, and it begins Saturday with a special broadcast on Fox Sports Tennessee as the Preds take on the Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh. A military theme will include a message from Head Coach Peter Laviolette, and it all leads into a one-of-a-kind week at Bridgestone Arena as the team returns for a three-game home stand.
When the Predators host Arizona this Monday, Calgary on Thursday and San Jose on Saturday, all fans will first be greeted by U.S. Armed Forces vehicles on the Bridgestone Arena Plaza on display for viewing. Upon entry into the Arena, all fans will receive miniature U.S. flags so each patron can participate in the patriotic display.

From there, in addition to the usual military salute - which will be complete with an oversized U.S. flag held in the upper bowl - each night will feature in-game recognition for WWII veterans, military themed activities and special guests on the Ford Bandstage.
Complimentary tickets will be provided to lucky military members as part of the Military Match program, and all members can receive a 20 percent discount on concessions with their military ID.
"Military Appreciation Week is all about honoring and saying thank you to all of the brave men and women that have served or are currently serving this great country, especially those who have made the ultimate sacrifice." Predators New Business Account Executive AJ Rockwell said. "We already have a strong presence of military recognitions in-game and this week it will be one notch higher as a display of our gratitude to these men and women."
Fans will also have the chance to take a piece of memorabilia home with them as select players will wear military appreciation jerseys during pregame warmups and will then be auctioned off in the Preds App. Mystery Pucks will also be available for purchase at the Preds Foundation table on the main concourse during the week.
