Calle Jarnkrok is often said to have the best "hockey IQ" on the Nashville roster, and he brings those smarts nightly for the Predators.
The 29-year-old Swede is entering his seventh full season with Nashville and has proven to be a reliable forward at both ends of the ice.

Jarnkrok skated in 64 games for the Predators in 2019-20 tallying 34 points (15g-19a). Despite the pandemic-shortened season, he was just one-point shy of matching his career high of 35, which he set in 2017-18. He matched his career high in assists with 19, which he previously set in 2017-18. Jarnkrok became the second player in franchise history to score two shorthanded goals in the same game on Oct. 31, 2019, vs. Calgary.
Just as they have done since the 2013-14 campaign, the Preds will rely on Jarnkrok once more to be a steady presence and chip in on offense again in 2021.
By the Numbers:
- Jarnkrok has 183 points (81g-102a) in 459 career NHL games, all coming with the Predators. He owns 58 career Stanley Cup Playoff appearances, tallying 14 points (3g-11a), seven (2g-5a) of which came during Nashville's run to the 2017 Stanley Cup Final.
- He has picked up at least one power-play goal and one shorthanded goal in each of the last five NHL seasons and sits tied for fifth in franchise history in shorthanded goals (7) and tied for sixth in shorthanded points (10).
- Jarnkrok became the first player in franchise history to score a shorthanded goal in overtime on Jan. 10, 2017, vs. Vancouver; that goal came at 4:58 of overtime, the latest OT goal in team history.
Fun Fact:
- Hockey runs deep in Calle Jarnkrok's family - his father, Tony, played nine seasons in Sweden's second and third professional divisions, primarily for Gävle GIK from 1974-83, and his first cousin, Elias Lindholm, currently plays for the NHL's Calgary Flames.
