Filip Forsberg finds the back of the net better than most.
That's been true throughout his NHL career, and the Predators sniper will be relied upon that much more to tickle the twine over the course of a condensed 56-game schedule.

Forsberg saw his lowest point totals of any of his six full seasons in 2019-20, but even then, he was good for 21 goals and 48 points in 63 games. The Swede found success in the 2020 Stanley Cup Qualifiers with three goals and five points in just four games after being reunited with Ryan Johansen and Viktor Arvidsson on Nashville's top line.
Like many of his teammates, Forsberg has something to build on as the new season arrives, and a motivated No. 9 could be bad news for the rest of the Central Division.
By the Numbers:
- Forsberg became the first player in franchise history to record six 20-goal seasons. His 21 goals led the Predators; his seven power-play goals also was a team high.
- He ended the 2019-20 regular season with two goals on March 10 at Montreal, tying Shea Weber for the second-most goals in franchise history with 166.
- Forsberg holds multiple team postseason records, including points (49); goals (26); points in a single postseason (16 in 2017 and 2018); and goals in a single postseason (9 in 2017).
Fun Fact:
- Filip Forsberg's 165 goals since his first full NHL season in 2014-15 are the most by a Swedish-born player in that time span; his 347 points are the third-most.
