Ellis tallied eight goals and 38 points during the 2019-20 season, only three points from matching his career high, despite playing only 49 games. He was plus-16 and ranked second on the Predators in ice time per game (23:30) behind Josi (25:47) and third in blocked shots (96). Ellis has scored at least 32 points each of the past five seasons.
Ridiculously reliable on both ends of the ice, Ellis also tells it like it is and is a veteran presence in the locker room, offering a voice to his teammates when needed. Also the owner of one of the best beards in the League, Ellis is the complete package on the blue line and will play a key role in Nashville's pursuit of a playoff spot once more.

- Out of League blueliners who skated in at least 41 games, Ellis was tied for seventh in points per game at .78, a career best mark.
- Recorded a career-best five-game point streak (9a) from Oct. 12 to 22; also set a career-best assist streak of five games in the same span.

- Known as one of the best defensemen in CHL history, Ellis won a number of awards during his four seasons with the OHL's Windsor Spitfires from 2007-11, including: 2011 CHL Player and Defenseman of the Year; 2011 OHL Most Outstanding Player; 2009 Memorial Cup All-Star Team; 2009 OHL First All-Star Team; and 2008 CHL All-Rookie Team.
