WHEREAS, our Nashville Predators have battled through a long and grueling season in the National Hockey League, in which they were seeded the 16th team in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and against all odds, they became the first 16 seed to ever make the Stanley Cup Final; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of Nashville have expressed unparalleled support for the Predators in light of their historic success, with tens of thousands packing the award-winning Bridgestone Arena and outdoor watch parties; and

WHEREAS, the City of Nashville is proud to support the fastest and most exciting team - and loudest and most energetic fan base in all of the NHL, both of which have grown exponentially in their success in the last few years, transforming Nashville into Smashville, and into a true 'Hockey Town', catching the attention of media around the world; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County extend its gratitude and appreciation to the Nashville Predators for bringing the eyes of the world upon our city, generating strong economic impact and raising their national profile in the process.
