Predators forwards Eeli Tolvanen and Brad Richardson are nearing a return.
For the first time in several weeks, the duo joined their teammates for practice on Wednesday. Preds Head Coach John Hynes said it's not yet clear if they will be ready for action in tonight's game in Chicago, but that the forwards are now "day-to-day" in the recovery from their injuries. The rest of Nashville's injured players, notably including Mark Borowiecki, Alexandre Carrier, Dante Fabbro and Filip Forsberg, remain "week-to-week" in their recovery timelines.
The Preds (25-21-1) were victorious in meeting one of three this week with the Blackhawks. Mikael Granlund, Calle Jarnkrok and Luke Kunin combined for six points in the 5-2 win.
Chicago (21-20-5) will host Nashville tonight and on Friday. The Blackhawks are winless in six tries against Nashville this season.
Update: The Preds have recalled forward Tanner Jeannot from the taxi squad and reassigned forward Philip Tomasino to Chicago (AHL) from the taxi squad.
The Predators did not hold a morning skate in advance of tonight's early start time (6 p.m. CT). Below is a projected lineup based on Monday's game:
Projected Lineup: Predators at Blackhawks
Vanderbilt Health Projected Lineup: Richardson, Tolvanen Skate with Predators at Wednesday's Practice
