After serving his two-game suspension, defenseman Dante Fabbro can return to the Predators lineup when they face the Lightning (today at 3 p.m. CT).
On Saturday, Nashville (11-16-1) cut the Tampa Bay lead to 4-3 early in the third period, but ultimately fell, 6-3. Blueliner Frederic Allard, a 2016 draft pick, made his NHL debut in the contest and skated 16:59.
The Preds held a practice at AMALIE Arena on Sunday afternoon and were joined by goaltender Juuse Saros (Injured Reserve). Head coach John Hynes said Saros continues to improve, and that it's possible he could return to the lineup in the next two games. He also said none of the other players who are currently on IR are likely to return soon. That list includes Roman Josi, Matt Duchene, Ryan Ellis and several others.
The Lightning (19-5-2) are 5-0-0 against the Predators this season and could retake first place in the entire NHL with a victory this afternoon.
Monday Afternoon Update: The Preds have recalled defensemen Alexandre Carrier and Ben Harpur from the taxi squad and reassigned Allard to the taxi squad.
Nashville did not hold a morning skate on Monday due to the early start time. Below is a projected lineup based on Saturday's game and Sunday's news:
Projected Lineup: Predators at Lightning
Vanderbilt Health Projected Lineup: Fabbro Eligible to Return; Saros (IR) Improving
