The Nashville Predators can set a franchise record for points in a season (110 in 2006-07) with a win tonight over the San Jose Sharks (at 7 p.m. CT).
The Preds snapped a three-game skid with a 2-1 shootout win over the Minnesota Wild to maintain their first place positioning on the NHL. Nashville held a full morning skate on Thursday and were joined by Austin Watson (upper-body injury; day-to-day), but Yannick Weber (upper-body injury; day-to-day) was not present.
San Jose comes into the evening's contest as one of the hottest teams in the NHL, alongside the Predators. The Sharks have points in nine consecutive games and an 8-0-1 record over the span. Nashville and San Jose have split their first two meetings, with the Preds winning the most recent contest on Feb. 22 in Nashville, 7-1.
