The Nashville Predators begin their only homestand in January when they host the Washington Capitals tonight (at 7 p.m. CT).
The Preds (27-16-4) completed their longest road trip of the season, a six-game trip to the east, on Sunday in North Carolina with a 6-3 loss to the Hurricanes. Nashville will now start a three-game homestand, their only extended stay at home during the month. Defenseman Yannick Weber logged Monday's full practice alongside Dan Hamhuis and could be nearing a return.
The Capitals (27-13-5) played and lost last night to the St. Louis Blues, 4-1. Washington also fell to Nashville in the teams' first meeting of the season, 6-3, on Dec. 31.
Update: Weber has been activated from Injured Reserve.
The Predators held an optional morning skate on Tuesday. Below is a projected lineup based on Monday's practice:
