The Rangers' two top prospects in North America could be calling New York home sooner rather than later.
With 10 games remaining on the schedule beginning tonight against the Blue Jackets at Madison Square Garden, coach Alain Vigneault said discussions have begun on recalling 2017 first-round picks Lias Andersson and Filip Chytil, both of whom are playing in Hartford of the American Hockey League.

Both Andersson, 19, and Chytil, 18, can play up to nine games with the club this season before the first year of their entry-level contracts kick in.
Andersson still has nine games remaining, while Chytil has seven after he dressed for the first two games of the season in October before being assigned to Hartford.
"We're slowing working on the two young kids, Lias and Filip," Vigneault said. "I would say there's a very good chance that we're going to both of those kids up here real soon."
Is there a chance Andersson is recalled for Thursday's game?
"Yes," Vigneault said.
Andersson began the season with Frolunda of the Swedish Hockey League before leaving that club for the 2018 World Junior Championship tournament, where he captained Sweden to a Silver Medal while registering six goals and seven points in seven games.
Andersson, who was taken with the seventh pick in the draft, suffered a shoulder injury during the tournament, and was assigned to Hartford after it healed. He has five goals and nine assists for 14 points in 23 games with the Wolf Pack.
Chytil, meanwhile, has 11 goals and 20 assists for 31 points in 44 games with Hartford this season, which is tied for the 12th-most points by a player younger than 19 in AHL history. The 21st overall pick in last year's draft leads AHL players younger than 20 in goals and points per game (0.70) this year.
