Brandon Crawley tallied a power play goal, led all skaters with four hits, and registered two shots on goal in 18:51 of ice time while playing his first game of the preseason this year. Crawley, who was selected by the Rangers in the fourth round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, established OHL career-highs in goals (seven), assists (20), points (27), plus/minus rating (plus-55), and penalty minutes (114) with the London Knights during the 2016-17 season.
Henrik Lundqvist stopped 23 of 24 shots he faced while playing the first two periods of tonight's contest. He stopped 14 of 15 shots he faced during the second period of tonight's game, and he also made eight saves while the Rangers were shorthanded during the first two periods. Entering the 2017-18 season, Lundqvist ranks 10th on the NHL's all-time wins list (405), and he is one of three goaltenders in NHL history who have earned 30 or more wins in at least 11 different seasons (along with Martin Brodeur and Patrick Roy).
Lias Andersson notched a power play assist in tonight's contest. In addition, he tied for the game-high - and led the Rangers - with nine faceoff wins in the game (9-for-13; 69.2%), and he also won seven of eight faceoffs he took in the defensive zone in the contest (87.5%). Andersson has registered two assists/points in three preseason games this year.
Nick Holden recorded a power play assist, was credited with a team-high two blocked shots, and registered three hits in 19:09 of ice time. Holden established career-highs in goals (11), assists (23), points (34), and plus/minus rating (plus-13) during his first season with the Rangers in 2016-17.
Ryan McDonagh was credited with two hits while skating in a game-high 26:47 of ice time in tonight's game. McDonagh led the Rangers in ice time in 69 of the 77 games he played during the 2016-17 season.
