New York Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury announced today that the team has agreed to terms with restricted free agent forward Tim Gettinger on a one-year contract, restricted free agent goaltender Adam Huska on a one-year contract, and restricted free agent forward Ty Ronning on a one-year contract.
Gettinger, 23, skated in 23 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL) this past season, registering nine goals and 10 assists for 19 points, along with a plus-two rating and 20 penalty minutes. He tied for the team lead in power play goals (six), ranked second in points, and ranked third in goals and shots on goal (49) in 2020-21. Gettinger also skated in two NHL games with the Rangers this past season.
The 6-6, 218-pounder has skated in 140 career AHL games over three seasons (2018-19 - 2020-21), all with Hartford, registering 39 goals and 34 assists for 73 points, along with 61 penalty minutes. Gettinger has also skated in eight career NHL games with the Rangers over the last three seasons. The Cleveland, Ohio native was selected by the Rangers in the fifth round, 141st overall, of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
