Emerging from the Pack

Boo Nieves registered three points (one goal, two assists) and posted a plus-two rating in three contests during the week. He tallied two points (one goal, one assist) on Jan. 26 vs. Charlotte and notched an assist on the game-winning goal on Jan. 27 vs. Charlotte. Nieves has recorded seven points (three goals, four assists) in 12 AHL games with the Wolf Pack this season, including four points (one goal, three assists) in five games since rejoining Hartford on Jan. 15.

Vinni Lettieri tallied a power play goal and recorded three shots on goal on Jan. 27 vs. Charlotte. He has recorded 22 points (13 goals, nine assists) in 33 AHL games this season, and he leads the Wolf Pack in goals in 2017-18.

Adam Tambellini registered a goal/point in all three games during the week (three goals over the span) and tallied a shootout goal on Jan. 26 vs. Charlotte. The Rangers' third round pick (65th overall) in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft has notched a point in eight of his last 13 games (three goals, five assists) and is tied for third on the Wolf Pack in goals this season (nine).

Neal Pionk tallied an assist/point in two of three games during the week (two assists), and he also posted a plus-two rating in the three contests. He has registered seven assists/points in his last nine games, nine points (one goal, eight assists) in his last 13 games, and 10 points (one goal, nine assists) in his last 16 contests. Pionk ranks second among Wolf Pack defensemen in assists (15) and points (16) this season.

Cole Schneider tallied two goals, including the game-winning goal in overtime, and led all skaters with seven shots on goal on Jan. 24 at Utica. He has notched 28 points (nine goals, 19 assists) in 46 games with Hartford this season, and he leads the Wolf Pack in points in 2017-18.

Three Stars of the Week

Tim Gettinger registered a goal/point in all three of Sault Ste. Marie's games during the week, tallying six points (four goals, two assists) in the three contests. In addition, Gettinger posted a multi-point game in back-to-back contests on Jan. 26 vs. Windsor and Jan. 27 vs. Barrie, recording five points (three goals, two assists) in those two contests. The Rangers' fifth round pick (141st overall) in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft extended his goal/point streak to six games (seven goals, three assists over the span) and has registered a point in 12 of the last 14 games, tallying 18 points (11 goals, seven assists) over the span. Gettinger has recorded 50 points (28 goals, 22 assists) and a plus-18 rating with the Greyhounds this season, and he reached the 50-point plateau for the second consecutive season. Gettinger is one assist, three goals, and four points away from tying his OHL career-highs (all of which were established last season). He ranks eighth in the OHL in shots on goal this season (182). He also leads Sault Ste. Marie in shots on goal, is tied for the team lead in game-winning goals (seven), is tied for second in goals, and ranks third in points in 2017-18.

Sean Day registered an assist/point in all three games during the week, tallying five assists over the span. The Rangers' third round pick (81st overall) in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft has posted four multi-assist/point games over the last six contests, and he has recorded nine assists in those six games. Day has tallied 14 points (one goal, 13 assists) in 12 games with Kingston this season and has registered 35 points (five goals, 30 assists) in 39 OHL games in 2017-18. He has established an OHL career-high in assists this season, and he is also one point away from tying his OHL career-high. Day ranks eighth among OHL defensemen in assists and is tied for eighth among OHL defensemen in points this season.

Dominik Lakatos tallied two assists on Jan. 23 against HC Kometa Brno. The Rangers' sixth round pick (157th overall) in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft has registered 20 points (10 goals, 10 assists) in 42 games with Liberec this season. Lakatos is tied for fourth on Liberec in goals and ranks fifth on the team in points and shots on goal (70) in 2017-18. In addition, among all players younger than 24 years old in Czech Extraliga, Lakatos (who is 20 years old) ranks fourth in points and is tied for fourth in goals.

Tyler Nanne tallied an assist on the game-winning goal in overtime on Jan. 26 against Notre Dame. The Rangers' fifth round pick (142nd overall) in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft has registered nine points (three goals, six assists) in 30 games with the University of Minnesota this season.
